Anne Arundel County, from the historic streets of Annapolis to the bustling federal hubs around Fort Meade, is a unique blend of natural beauty and critical national infrastructure. As we navigate the start of 2026, two key issues are at the forefront for our communities: the health of the Chesapeake Bay and the unwavering support for our federal employees and defense sector.

Safeguarding Our Chesapeake Bay: A Top Priority

The Chesapeake Bay is more than just a scenic backdrop; it's the heart of our economy and way of life in Anne Arundel County. From the watermen whose livelihoods depend on its health to the tourism it brings to towns like Edgewater and Deale, the Bay impacts us all. Recent reports highlight persistent challenges with water quality and oyster restoration efforts.

My Commitment: We need a strong federal voice to protect our most valuable natural resource. I will advocate for increased funding for Chesapeake Bay restoration initiatives, ensuring that our local partners have the resources to combat pollution, restore habitats, and support sustainable fisheries. Preserving the Bay isn't just an environmental issue; it's an economic imperative for Anne Arundel County.

Supporting Our Federal Employees and Defense Community

Anne Arundel County is home to a vital federal workforce, with thousands of dedicated professionals at Fort Meade, the National Security Agency (NSA), and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. These institutions are cornerstones of our national security and economic stability. As federal budget discussions loom, it’s critical to ensure our federal employees are treated fairly and our defense facilities remain strong.

My Commitment: As a veteran, I understand the sacrifices made by those who serve our nation, both in uniform and in federal service. I will fight against any attempts to cut vital benefits, reduce pay, or diminish the resources for our federal agencies in Anne Arundel County. We must ensure our federal workforce has the support and resources they need to continue their critical missions, safeguarding both our national security and our local economy.

Infrastructure for a Growing County

From traffic congestion on Route 50 to the need for modernized public transit options, Anne Arundel County's growth demands robust infrastructure solutions. We must invest in smart transportation projects that ease commutes, connect communities, and support our economic future.
